Is it possible to add mp3 files not from a CD but from the hard drive onto power point so that the file plays in much the same way as if the titles were taken directly from a CD?

im trying to get a song from itunes and put it on my Microsoft powerpoint 2007, i have done so and the speaker icon appears, but when i click or start the presentation it refuses to play the song! Any help?
