I have no clue how to use PowerPoint but would really like to master it within the next few months. Do you know of any programs, training courses, etc that will help me? If you can suggest ones that are free and also teach you a lot, I’ll give you 10 points.
Hi there,
Microsoft Office has a ton of free resources and trainings available online at their website. Here’s a list of some of the articles and videos available: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/results.aspx?qu=powerpoint+training&origin=CH010224780.
You can also check out the Microsoft PowerPoint community on Facebook by searching "Microsoft PowerPoint" the next time you’re logged into Facebook.
Lastly, you can find even more resources on the PowerPoint Blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerpoint/.
Hope these get you on your way.
Cheers,
Kim

I know a non-profit site called "PowerPoint in the Classroom" which provides comprehensive and step-by-step user guides, teaching you from creating a simple slide to using all program funtions to produce the desired presentation. Hope it helps:

From a technical standpoint – just sit down and pick through every menu and every dialog box and everything you can find. Learning the tools isn’t too hard.
What you need to do is come up with an assignment for yourself to do. Just playing around won’t get you anywhere when it comes to really understanding PowerPoint. Think of a school project or a professional presentation. Or find someone else’s presentation that you would like to emulate. Make yourself create it from scratch and FINISH the project. That’s how you are going to get good.
