I’m making a Powerpoint presentation for school but I have a much older version then the one in our school labs. Will my presentation work on a new version if I use the old one to create it? Also, I have a PC at home but the teacher has a Mac. Will it work on her computer or do I have to do anything special for it? Thanks in advance!

Yes, if you create a presentation in MS-Powerpoint 97 (for example) you can open it with MS-Powerpoint 2003. If you try to re-save it, however, you will want to make sure you click "Save As" so that you can save it as the older version so you will be able to open it at home again.

Transferring it to a Mac, however, is a question that I have no expertise in, so I won’t try to give you a BS answer about that.

Yes it can be converted. but once it was already converted. the new one will not work on the old version

You don’t have to do anything special for your teacher. The older version powerpoint files can be opened in the newer versions of powerpoint. No converter is needed. The file format for PowerPoint is identical on PC and Mac.
