Hold the Shift key for at least 30 seconds during restart. Open System Preferences > Accounts. Click on your account. Click the "Login Items" tab. Uncheck / untick the item that is loading at login.
By the way, it is not likely to be a "presentation" (PPT). It is probably a slide show (PPS). In the future, don’t open any email attachments unless you expect and need them. It isn’t worth the occasional laugh to get a messed up computer. You will finally learn who passes on the chain-mail jokes and attachments that, like the bucket of KFC wings found on the subway seat, are best tossed. For me, it’s my brother’s wife. She has nothing better to do.

Hold down the Option key as you click on the PowerPoint icon on your doc. Choose Force Quit.
CONTROL ALT DELETE on macs its a little different but it should bring up your task manager and you can end the program.
Maybe you got a spam email containing a virus into the attachement. Dunno….. try reinstalling office
