the sound is half way between R and L. My father in law asked me if I wanted “grass”, as he is a police man I was a little shocked. Later I learned he was asking if I wanted a Glass, not Grass.
YOU GOT SOME WRONG!! akai is red. shiroi is white. aoi is blue. green is ok! yellow is also ok. pink is considered as pinku. orange is orenji- iro. gray and brown is correct. Black is kuroi!!
Actually she didn’t get it wrong. What was used was the NOUN proper form of the word. What you have translated it to is the ADJECTIVE proper form. Both are correct.
